🎙️ Recording & Transcription
The core function of eXODA AI: speak freely – the AI transcribes your text automatically.
Tap the blue microphone button at the bottom of the screen to start a recording.
Speak freely – no special speaking pace required, pauses are fine.
Tap the button again to stop the recording.
The AI automatically transcribes the text and copies it to the clipboard. The text appears directly in the recording tab.
Recording duration: A single recording can be up to 15 minutes long. eXODA AI uses OpenAI Whisper and supports over 50 languages – the language is detected automatically.
🔨 Edit Text with AI
After transcription, the orange hammer button appears. Use it to have the AI rework your transcribed text using a voice command.
Tap the orange hammer button.
Speak an editing command, for example:

The AI edits the text and automatically copies the result to the clipboard.
➕ Continue Recording
When a transcribed text already exists, the orange plus button appears. Use it to start a new recording whose text is appended to the existing one.
Ideal for: Longer dictations in multiple sections – pause in between and continue seamlessly. The complete text stays together and can then be shared or edited in one step.
🌐 Translation
Below the transcribed text, flag buttons appear for all languages you have enabled in settings.
Tap a flag to instantly translate the text into that language.
The translation appears in the recording tab and is automatically copied to the clipboard.
Set target languages: Menu → Settings → Choose target languages. Only enable the languages you actually need – this keeps the interface clean.
📤 Share Text
In edit mode (after tapping the transcribed text), two share buttons appear:

⌨️ Dictation Keyboard (iOS & Android)
With the eXODA AI Dictation Keyboard you can dictate directly in any app – without opening eXODA AI first. The dictated text is automatically transcribed and inserted into the active text field.
Setup (iOS)
Open eXODA AI → Menu → Set up keyboard and follow the instructions.
In any text field, tap and hold the Globe key (🌐).
Select eXODA AI from the list.
Tap the 🎙 microphone icon and dictate – the text is inserted automatically.
Setup (Android)
Open eXODA AI → Menu → Set up keyboard and follow the instructions.
In any text field, tap the 🌐 Globe icon.
Select eXODA AI Dictation Keyboard.
Tap the 🎙 microphone icon and dictate.
⏱️ Time Tracking
In the Time Tracking tab you stamp check-in and check-out times. Working time is calculated automatically.

Export/Import: All time entries can be exported and imported as a CSV file – ideal for payroll or external time-tracking systems.

In the Tasks tab you manage your tasks by voice or text input.

❓ Interactive Introduction Tour
eXODA AI includes an interactive tour that explains all features step by step. The tour starts automatically on first use.
Restart the tour: Tap the ❓ icon in the top right of the app – the tour starts from the beginning.
⌨️ Keyboard Shortcuts (macOS)
On macOS, eXODA AI can be controlled entirely using the Control key – system-wide from any app:

Tip: Press the keys in quick succession (within 0.4 seconds). They don't need to be pressed simultaneously – just double/triple tap quickly.
Customize shortcut: The default keyboard shortcut can be changed in Settings (⌘,).
📋 Auto-Paste (macOS)
After transcription, eXODA AI copies the text to the clipboard, automatically switches back to the app you were working in before, and pastes the text there using Cmd+V.
Required Permissions
For this to work, eXODA AI needs two permissions on macOS:

On first launch, eXODA AI will automatically ask for these permissions. Allow access when the macOS dialog appears.
🛠️ Auto-Paste not working – Troubleshooting
Step 1: Check permissions
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility
Check that eXODA AI is in the list and the switch is enabled
Under Automation, check that eXODA AI has access to System Events
Step 2: Reset the permission (most common fix!)
If eXODA AI is in the list and the switch is enabled, but pasting still doesn't work, this is caused by an outdated permission entry.
Why does this happen? macOS remembers the permission based on the app's code signature. When you install an update (e.g. via TestFlight or the App Store), the signature changes. The old permission no longer matches the new version – even though the name is identical.
How to fix it:
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility
Select eXODA AI in the list
Click "–" (Minus) to remove the entry. If there are multiple entries, remove all of them
Click "+" (Plus)
Navigate to eXODA AI and add the app again
Restart eXODA AI – auto-paste should now work
Alternative: Terminal command
You can also reset the permission via Terminal:
Then restart eXODA AI – the permission dialog will appear automatically.
Step 3: Check System Events
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Automation
Find eXODA AI in the list
Make sure System Events is enabled
If "System Events" is not in the list: launch eXODA AI and try a recording + paste – macOS should show the dialog automatically.
📝 Manual Paste
The transcribed text is always copied to the clipboard – regardless of whether auto-paste works. You can always paste the text manually:
Switch to the app where you want the text
Press Cmd+V
🎯 Typical Workflow (macOS)
You are working in Mail, Pages, Word, a browser or any other app
Press Ctrl Ctrl – eXODA AI comes to the foreground and remembers your previous app
Press Ctrl a third time – recording starts immediately
Speak your text
Press Ctrl Ctrl – eXODA AI stops the recording, transcribes the text, improves grammar and punctuation with AI, switches back to your previous app and pastes the text there

How do I restart the tour?
Tap the ❓ icon in the top right of the app. The interactive tour explains all features step by step.
How do I enable translation languages?
Open Menu → Settings and select the desired languages under "Target languages". After transcription, flag buttons will automatically appear for the enabled languages.
How do I change the app language?
Tap the 🌐 icon in the top right of the app. The interface language changes immediately.
How long can I record?
A single recording can be up to 15 minutes long. For longer dictations, use the Continue function (plus button) – the new text is seamlessly appended.
Which languages does transcription support?
eXODA AI uses OpenAI Whisper and supports over 50 languages. The language is detected automatically – no configuration needed.
How do I get more dictation credit?
You start with 10 free minutes. More time can be purchased in the Unlock tab. Redeem voucher codes via Menu → Voucher. An annual subscription offers unlimited recordings.
Can I back up my data?
Yes. Open Menu → Settings – there you can create a backup and export data.
Why does macOS ask for Accessibility permission?
eXODA AI needs to be able to send keyboard input to other apps (Cmd+V to paste). macOS only allows this for apps authorized in Accessibility. This is a security feature by Apple.
Is this secure?
Yes. eXODA AI only sends the paste command (Cmd+V) and only when you trigger it by double-pressing Ctrl. The app has no access to other keyboard input or screen content.
What happens to my audio recordings?
Audio recordings are sent exclusively to OpenAI for transcription and then immediately deleted from your device. There is no permanent storage on third-party servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.
